Social Responsibilities
Our unique stakeholder consultation mechanism, have successfully transformed welfare initiatives into comprehensive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs that go beyond expectations, fostering positive social impact.
1. Livelihood and Skill Development
NMDC Swarojgar Yojna:
NMDC has initiated the Startup Village Entrepreneur Programme (SVEP) in partnership with Gram Panchayats of Kondagaon District. Revolving funds are provided to self-help groups and their family members to support livelihood arrangements. This program aims to improve the socioeconomic conditions of vulnerable groups, helping them diversify their income sources, enhance earnings, and create employment opportunities.
2. Rural Development
Infrastructure Development in Bastar:
NMDC has signed an agreement with the District Collector of Bastar to undertake various infrastructural development projects,including:Construction of RCC culverts, CC roads, boundary walls, and market sheds in villages under the Manwa Nava Nar program.
Public Distribution Shops in Narayanpur:
To enhance the food security system in Naxal-affected areas, NMDC, in partnership with the district administration of Narayanpur, has constructed five public distribution shops in different Gram Panchayats to support vulnerable communities.
3. Nutrition
Tackling Malnutrition and Anaemia:
In partnership with the district administrations of Bastar and Narayanpur, NMDC distributes nutritious food to children and mothers. Key activities include:
- Providing free nutritious and hot cooked meals to malnourished women and children.
- Supplementary nutritious food for children at Anganwadi centres.
- Iron, folic acid, and anti-helminth tablets for anaemia-affected individuals.
4. Health and Hygiene
Burn Unit in Maharani Hospital, Jagdalpur:
NMDC has established a dedicated 16-bed Burn Unit Centre in Maharani Hospital, Jagdalpur, in partnership with the district administration, providing critical healthcare services to the community.
5. Education
100-Seater Hostel in Bastar University:
To promote education and infrastructure development, NMDC has constructed a 100-seater hostel in Bastar University in collaboration with the district administration of Bastar.
Drinking Water Facilities in Schools:
NMDC, in partnership with the Kondagaon District Administration, has installed safe and clean drinking water infrastructure in over 200 government schools, government ashrams, and health centres where such facilities were previously unavailable.
